Achieve Training is the largest independent provider of apprenticeship training in Staffordshire. It prepares young people for work, supports adults into employment and creates practical apprenticeships that help organisations upskill their workforce. The current Achieve Training Chair is due to retire from the position in September 2021, hence we are looking for a new Chair who can continue to lead the Board and the business through the post-pandemic period, enabling the Board to provide the strategic vision and oversight required to achieve future stability and growth, enabling the delivery of a great experience with excellent opportunities for our learners, building upon the great work that has been done in the past to make the organisation a significant asset to the communities it serves.

The Chair will provide strategic leadership and direction to the Achieve Training Board, building effective governance arrangements that promote strong relations across the Board and Executive teams, to support we are aspire to realise its vision and strategic objectives. The new Chair will be a proven visionary and strategic leader, who inspires and gets the best out of people and teams, possessing excellent governance knowledge, with significant experience at Board level including Chairing experience.

 The Chair of Achieve Training will also sit on the Board of Aspire Housing and will contribute to the strategic direction and oversight of the housing offer and training offer working hand-in-hand to help people flourish. High levels of collaboration, insight and the ability to grasp the complexities of these dual responsibilities will be key to success in the role.
